Ronnie Scott’s All Stars - A Celebration of Soulful Swings
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]A Celebration of Soulful Swings is the second instalment of the monthly residency by our award-winning ‘house band’ with a difference, Ronnie Scott’s All Stars - an intimate series designed to bring audiences closer than ever to the music.
This special edition features guest vocalist Polly Gibbons, a regular collaborator with the All Stars and one of the UK’s most captivating jazz voices.
With nine albums to her name and a career spanning both sides of the Atlantic, Polly brings a deeply expressive, contemporary edge to the Great American Songbook and beyond. Her latest album As It Is, launched at Ronnie Scott’s to critical acclaim, showcases her gift for reimagining familiar songs with emotional depth and originality.
For this performance, Polly draws on a rich repertoire of Blues and Soul, including music associated with legends such as Nina Simone and Ray Charles. The evening will also feature a preview from her new EP, recorded with the Carducci String Quartet - adding an extra layer of elegance and texture to the programme.
As with any Ronnie Scott’s All Stars show, the performance will be anchored by pianist and Artistic Director James Pearson, alongside saxophonist Alex Garnett (playing Ronnie Scott’s own tenor sax), bassist Sam Burgess, and drummer Chris Higginbottom.
